What this page is for
Count what is in each unit (towels, glasses, a kettle) and see at a glance which units are short of something.
Who can use it
See unit stock (by default Admin, Operations, Staff and Viewer). Update unit stock to save counts (Admin, Operations, Staff). Only people who can Edit the item catalogue set how many a unit should have.
How to
- The first page lists your units with the number of items short. Select a unit.
- Enter how many of each item the unit has now, and notes if needed (for example "one glass chipped").
- Managers also enter how many it should have.
- Select Save. Use Short only to see just what needs buying.
Fields and columns
| Field | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Items short | How many items the unit has fewer of than it should. |
| Has | The count now. |
| Should have | The ideal amount. 0 means the unit doesn't need it. |
| Notes | Anything worth knowing about this item in this unit. |
Statuses and automation
When a damage report names an item and a quantity, the unit's count goes down by that amount (never below zero). Items switched off in the catalogue are not shown or counted.
