What this page is for
When something happens that you should know about, CityLights sends you a notification. The bell at the top of every screen shows how many you haven't read. This page lists them, newest first.
Who can use it
Everyone who is signed in. You see only your own notifications, and only those of the organisation you are working in.
How to use notifications
- Select the bell at the top of the screen.
- Select a notification to open the screen it is about. It is marked as read.
- Select Mark all as read to clear the count.
- Select Preferences to choose which notifications reach you and how.
Fields and columns
| Item | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Icon | The kind of event. |
| Title and text | What happened. |
| Time | When it happened, in your organisation's timezone. |
| New | Not read yet. |
Statuses and automation
- New: not opened yet. Counted on the bell.
- Read: opened, or cleared with Mark all as read.
- Each module adds its own kinds of notification when it is on. For example, the system tells module managers when a module is switched on or off, and tells you when someone accepts your invitation.
- Notifications can also arrive by email, depending on your preferences.
Settings that change this page
Notification preferences decide which notifications appear here and which are emailed.
FAQs
Can I delete a notification? Not yet. Marking it as read removes it from the count.
I work for two organisations. Each organisation's notifications appear only while you work in that organisation.
